Flexible Robot

Introduction

Project "Flexible Robot" is completed during Master study.  It is the predecessor of the single motor driven hyper-redundant manipulator.  It was a project aimed at a nation-wide design competition.  It uses the same power transmission scheme.  It has 7 DOFs, and looks like a worm.  It can stick on the wall and walk using two micro-sucker embedded suction discs at its ends.  It is driven by one motor.  When it reaches the desired location, one of its ends can automatically detach from the suction disc and pick the working tool to work.  When finish, that end can re-engage to the suction disc and move.  This work won me the First Prize on 5th National Challenge-Cup University Students Academic Work Contest (1997) (10 winners in 10 different research fields among 3967 participants, biyearly)
