"Education is not the answer to the question. Education is the means to the answer to all questions." - William Allin
Welcome
My name is Brian Post and I am a graduate student at Georgia Tech in the Intelligent Machine Dynamics Laboratory. My current research is focused on the improvement of control algorithms for flexible manipulators. This site has been created for the purpose of presenting my research, interests and general information on my professional pursuits.
Quick Bio:
Originally from Knoxville,
Tennessee I grew up the son of a biologist (Dr.
Susan Riechert) and a computational ecologist (Dr.
Wilfred Post). Despite heavy immersion into the
realm of natural sciences, I chose to follow in the footsteps
of my grandfathers, a steam shovel engineer and an aviator,
and pursue a career in engineering.
To
that end, I received my undergraduate degree in mechanical
engineering from
Purdue University where I focused on medical
robotics. During the summers I had some great opportunities to
work with world class scientists at Oak Ridge National
Laboratory. The sum of my experiences has influenced heavily
my drive to pursue higher education, which is why I am working
towards my PhD in mechanical engineering here in the
Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering at Georgia Tech.
